Hoffman Voltameter Manufacturer,Supplier and Exporter in India
Product Code : EL-E-10988
A Hofmann voltameter (or Hofmann apparatus)
is a glassware device used to demonstrate the electrolysis of water,
breaking it down into hydrogen and oxygen gases, showing water's composition by
volume (2 parts H₂ to 1 part O₂). It features three connected vertical glass
tubes with platinum electrodes at the bottom, a central reservoir for adding
acidified water (to improve conductivity), and stopcocks to collect the gases,
which reveal their presence with characteristic pop (H₂) and glowing splint
relight (O₂) tests.
The Hoffman Voltameter facilitates precise stoichiometric analysis of water electrolysis, quantifying the volumetric ratio of Hydrogen and Oxygen evolution. Compliant with ISO 9001:2015 manufacturing standards, this instrument is engineered for University and Secondary level physics and chemistry curricula. It provides a ruggedized, graduated glass environment for the empirical verification of Faraday’s Laws and electrochemical equivalent constants.

Key Pedagogical Outcomes
- 50
x 0.2ml Precision Graduations: Allows students to quantify gas
evolution volumes, validating the 2:1 stoichiometric ratio of Hydrogen to
Oxygen in aqueous solutions.
- Removable
Carbon Electrodes: Facilitates the analysis of
electrode-electrolyte interactions and the observation of ionic migration
under varying current densities.
- Integrated
Stopcocks and Funnel Reservoir: Enables the application of
pressure equilibrium principles to ensure volumetric measurements are
recorded at atmospheric pressure for accurate gas law calculations.
- Open-Architecture Glass Unit: Supports the evaluation of electrolyte conductivity and the impact of catalytic additives (e.g., H_2SO_4) on the rate of decomposition.
International Logistics & Compliance
Science Lab Export ensures that all Hoffman
Voltameter units are secured in export-grade seaworthy crating (ISPM-15
compliant) with high-density foam inserts to prevent fracture during transit.
Global procurement documentation provided with each consignment includes the Manufacturer’s
Authorization Form (MAF), IQ/OQ/PQ Certification, and comprehensive Technical
Manuals in English. The apparatus features a tropicalized design, tested for
glass structural integrity and seal durability in operational environments
ranging up to 45°C and 90% non-condensing humidity.
